Synthetic leather for furniture: solutions for all the different needs
When using synthetic leather in the interior design sector, there are two essential factors: aesthetic aesthetic appeal and function.
Furniture backing characteristics
In this field, our R&D workshops develop solutions to meet every requirement of our customer, both in terms of thickness, finish, embossing, colour, aspect and material (microfibre fabric), and in terms of durability, resistance over time, comfort and variety of applications.
The main backing materials used for the furniture sectors are: interlock, cotton and polyester cloth, two-way stretch materials and jersey.
The main fields of application for our PVC and PU coated fabricsare both residential and contract.
Synthetic leather for furniture
We meet the requests of private customers interested in small quantities of synthetic leather, as well as large orders, in several contract and foodservice sectors.
Icaiplast synthetic leather for the interior design sector is compliant with the provisions set forth by the Reach System – the European Regulation to improve the protection of human health and the environment against chemicals – and is phthalate-free.
Material certification
In addition, it holds the following certifications: class 1 IM (fire resistance); ATB ultrafresh (anti-mould and anti-bacterial material); it is also subjected to the AFT treatment (anti-scratch treatment). Our PVC and PU coated fabrics for interiors are water-resistant and UV radiation, abrasion, and biological fluid resistant.
In our R&D Department, PVC and PU coated fabrics are tested internally by our quality control staff; in special cases, some other tests are performed externally in certified labs.
