Icaiplast produces PVC and PU coated fabrics suitable to cover several elements on boats, luxury yachts, speedboats and cruise ships. In particular: cushions and upholstered seats for indoor and outdoor spaces, tops and several furnishing items.
The main backing materials used for the marine sector are: interlock, cotton and polyester cloth, two-way stretch materials and jersey.
Certified materials
Years of testing and scientific trials have shown that synthetic leather for the marine sector has acquired the IMO-MED certification (Marine Equipment Directive), a result that is evidence of Icaiplast great care and attention in specific fields subjected to stringent regulations.
PVC and PU coated fabrics are compliant with the provisions set forth by the Reach Regulation – the European Regulation to improve the protection of human health and the environment against chemicals – and they are phthalate-free.
Anti-bacterial and sturdy
They are ATB Ultrafresh (antibacterial and anti-mould material) and class 1 IM (fire resistance) certified; and they undergo a waterproofing treatment and specific sector testing.
